Be Good, Do Good
We’re all neighbors on the lake - let’s work together to keep it great!
-
Be a Good Neighbor
Maintain your septic system on a regular basis.
Maintain a wooded buffer to control and prevent storm water runoff into the Lake; leave pine needles where they fall to create an anti-erosion mat.
Always check boat, trailer and equipment for plant fragments before launching, to prevent the introduction of seriously damaging invasive species (like milfoil).
Keep property tidy and ensure that no waste of any kind enters the lake; no fertilizer should be used in the watershed; no bathing or washing of dogs or boats in the lake.
Pequawket is a cold-water fishery and is stocked with trout by the state. The fish help to maintain water quality, so please respect all fishing regulations.
Respect Shoreland Zone Regulations as detailed by the town’s code enforcement.
-
Be a Safe Neighbor
When boating or jet skiing, observe headway speed within 200 feet of shore; drive in a counterclockwise direction when towing skiers/tubers or cruising at high speeds.
When towing a skier or tube, always have a designated observer in the boat; the driver needs to watch in front of, not behind, the boat.
Drive slowly on all camp roads for the safety of children, animals and those walking.
Fires should be contained and maintained at all times. Extinguish when not being supervised and do not allow residue to enter the lake.
-
Be a Thoughtful Neighbor
Respect other lake dwellers by minimizing noise, especially between 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m.; remember that noise travels unexpectedly well across the water.
Keep outdoor lighting at appropriate levels; help us all enjoy the beautiful night sky.
Remember that everything around the lake affects the health of the lake, and the health of the lake affects the value of your property.
