The Overview

The development of the Pequawket Lake Preservation Association (PLPA) in December 1995 was part of a larger re-organization and transition of the former Pequawket Lake Improvement Association (PLIA) to the now Pequawket Lake Road Maintenance Association (PLRMA) . Today, the PLPA maintains the lake itself as well as the spillway at the south end of Pequawket Lake and the PLRMA maintains Pequawket Lake Road, the main access road for residents on the east side of the lake. These two organizations employ a cooperative approach to maintaining the lake and the surrounding watershed.

The Mission

The PLPA’s mission has been to continually monitor, protect, and preserve the lake’s water quality along with the surrounding watershed ecosystem. As an organization made up entirely of volunteer lake property owners, the PLPA has accomplished several designations and accolades in accordance with this mission by working directly with lake property owners, the Town of Limington, local and state agencies, and other non-profits. Today, the PLPA continues setting goals that seek to support this mission and encourage new and future lake property owners to get involved!
